Po-pitifuls

Every so often I get a visit from the po-pitifuls. I never know what is going to cause them to pay a visit. I wake up and there they are. They can't be seen because they are engulfed in the dark cloud that is hanging over my head... just behind me and sort of to the left. They might be invisible but they can be heard, by me anyway. They follow me singing .....'nobody knows de trouble I seen.....' When this happens I shut down, eat too much, sleep as much as I can or watch endless Lifetime movies. And, listen to Tom Waites singing Waltzing Mathilda. And, drink way too many cokes. Oh, and, the chocolate.............

So, the other day I was watching an X-Files marathon and lusting over Fox Mulder (if he had kept eating those sunflower seeds.........oh well) Anyway, my dog, Gumbo, who usually sits on the back of the couch with his head on my shoulder, came in and jumped onto the couch and licked my foot. Before I knew it I was telling him that he was the only person I could count on and talk to. I was right on the verge of a crying jag.......

Thank God, my sane self broke out of the closet I had locked her in and told me I was getting close to lockup time, and I had better get over it. I argued a bit but she won so I started pulling myself out of it. It has taken me a few days, but, once again truth, honor and the American way won out over evil.

Actually, I felt so silly talking to Gumbo like I did that I got up and started cleaning house and took a walk.

Today was Reese Thomas' second birthday. I will tell ya'll about that tomorrow.

Percy who?

So, who thought it would be a wonderful idea to name a train Percy? A train that young children who are not talking clearly, plays with? Try taking a two year old out, a two year old who has that train (and Thomas), a two year old who has trouble with 'r' words. And, have that two year old want to tell everyone he sees what the name of the train is. Makes for an interesting day.
